Princess Jasmine at Prayer by LEXLOTHOR Princess Jasmine at Prayer by LEXLOTHOR
More of my Disney Princess fanart can be seen in my DA "Disney" gallery gallery:

lexlothor.deviantart.com/galle…

Jasmine may be a princess, but she still a participant in the Islamic culture into which she was born just as any other woman.

All are considered equal before Allah.

This artcard started as a very simple blue line sketchcard. I added no detail to the color version. I justed started to play with the light. As a result I had to slap my hand to get me to stop elaborating on such a small scale.

That is a really, really cool idea for a picture! You add so much back story to the character by doing this!

So beautiful! Her expression is lovely, and the dappled light is a great touch!

I am surprised (dismayed) that few artists on DA use "traditional" methods.

I know. I'm guilty of that. I do a bit of both but more digital nowadays I'm afraid. It's mainly because I do watercolours and the equipment is so expensive

Such a beautiful concept, I love it!! :D If you pay attention in Aladdin they say "By Allah" or something like that and you really added more of a large portion of the culture, very well done!!

THANX.

This is all the cultural anthropology study and historical research spilling out of my brain.

That's cool. I'd probably fail that cause it sounds boring to me! No offense, of course

This is NICE! I particularly like her face, and the "starburst" things. (sunbursts?)
