This depicts the Pleistocene megafauna of Australia. A Thylacoleo (a giant flesh eating relative of the koala) is chasing down a Diprotodon (essentially a rhino-sized wombat) with giant short faced kangaroos bounding by. This picture was finished 26 years ago. It has been subseqently theorized that Thylacoleo was an ambush predator that probably did not run down its prey.
