Description
More of my animal photography can be seen in my DA "Cute Critters" gallery:

I learned two unrelated facts from taking this photo. First, I determined that I am allergic to this flowering plant. Second, only when I zoomed in and cropped this picture did I realize that I had captured more than just insects pollenating a plant.
I have no idea what this plant is called, or what species of beetle I have photographed. If anyone knows, please tell me. This was photographed on a sage brush field in Oregon.
Have I created a new genre? What do I call it? Insect Porn? Bugnography? Beetlemania?

Mating Longhorns (likely P. grandis) and an audience of little brown ants.
Your sensitivity to the plant is unusual. They have been used by certain native cultures for producing a yellow dye and more recently for a hypoallergenic latex substitute.
Rubber Rabbitbush is a very tough plant. They've thrive in very low water content areas & been documented as surviving in soil contaminated by nuclear waste in Los Alamos. The plants there exhibited no visible signs of distress, but contained well over a quarter of million times the level of Strontium90.
