These creatures are the equivalent of mammoths on this icy world. It is seen near aphelion when it is furthest away on its highly elliptical orbit around its binary parent suns. One effect of it orbital dynamics is that its day differs in length. The days are longest at greatest distance from the two suns. Like a yo-yo its axial spin speeds up as it approaches perihelion. This frozen sea melts when the days get faster. I also wanted to play with the effect of sundogs on the planet of a binary pair. These are a K-star and a red dwarf.
