Allosaurus and Stegosaurus

The centerpiece of the Burke Museum's paleontology display is this pair of Jurassic dinosaurs in a nicely done tableau. Both the Allosaurus and the Stegosaurus mounts are casts. This display has stood since around 1980. It was an early example of the adoption of the "new" dinosaur posture that was only then being accepted. For instance the American Museum of Natural History would not rebuild its tail dragging dinosaur mounts until the 1990's.
